"East, west, south, or north makes little difference. No matter what your destination, just be sure to make every journey a journey inward. If you travel within, you’ll reach the whole world. Why are you so afraid of silence? Silence is the sea where all the drops of life gather; silence is the root of all spiritual practice."
The Forty Rules of Love. Elif Shafak, Turkish writer
What is your drop of "life" desperately avoiding the silence of the sea? How can I use silence today to move from my individual drop identity back toward the infinite ocean?

"And God said, ‘Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.’ And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good"

Where in my life do I need God (or the Sacred) to draw boundaries and bring order out of chaos? What “waters” inside me still need to be gathered so that new life can appear?

"The Sea of Faith Was once, too, at the full, and round earth’s shore Lay like the folds of a bright girdle furled. But now I only hear Its melancholy, long, withdrawing roar, Retreating, to the breath Of the night-wind, down the vast edges drear And naked shingles of the world."

If I listen deeply within, what subtle inner whisper or direction invites me toward the ‘other shore’—toward ease, awakening, or spaciousness—and how does my body respond when I imagine following it?

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[...] And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 Then he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life."
